Imara Wheelchair
Metco operates a full manufacturing plant in Nairobi to convert mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium into finished products. A new production line has been setup to manufacture the IMARA rough terrain wheelchair as there is a significant short fall of locally made assistive technology devices. Metco has designed and built this product specfically for use in rural areas where the terrain is not suitable for imported wheels chairs.
The manufacturing process involves laser cutting, cnc tube bending, welding and brazing, powder coating, final assembly.
